summer reading!
Started my day off by going to see my girl scouts to help prepare for the camp we are hosting for little girls. At 12:30 when I got home I ended up getting my outfit ready for tonight. I am going to dinner with Kyleigh! We have been in girl scouts together since 4th grade, so we've known each other for a long time.
My mom got home today from Barnes and Noble where she had bought me books for the summer. First, the summer reading books for IB.
- Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
- Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson
Then she got me some books that I ACTUALLY wanted to read this summer, but probably won't have time =)
- Tanlines
- beach blondes
- spring break
these books are all by Katherine Applegate.
I actually started reading Kidnapped today, but was soon stopped by the fact that I did not understand the Scottish, and I was simply not interested. I mean, "I beheld a regiment marching to the fifes" and "nae kind of a man, nae kind of a man at all." I don't understand half of the things they are saying. They use expressions like "laddie", "dapper" and parentheses to half-explain the expressions used in the book. I know that this is a classic, and I guess that I'll just have to suck it up and read it for school. Maybe I'll end up liking it.
I am actually trying not to use heat products on my hair. For a week straight now, I have not used one heat tool on my hair. I would not usually wear it like this, but I think that my hair will be in much better shape by the end of summer.
